Again, more a school of thought for certain techniques to produce New (Electronic) Music. Where the people at Radio-France used recorded “real” sounds to make their compositions with, the followers of Elektronische Musik at the studios set up at the Westdeutche Rundfunk in Colone, Germany aspired to create music by building sounds from scratch with the aid of sine-wave oscillators. They did make use of tape recorders like their colleagues in France but now record and stack sine-wave tones.
